Thisss. Wouldn’t it mean that Fraser hit on him too? And then Ray is all angsty and OH HE’S JUST HITTING ON ME BECAUSE OF THIS WEIRD THING GOING ON but really Fraser just doesn’t have any inhibitions to not hit on him but Ray doesn’t realize it and somehow he figures it out and has to ~trust~

mmmm yes Fraser has totally been hitting on Ray all along but Ray hasn’t realised it, so maybe his behaviour is basically the same as usual?? and Ray is like wow Fraser is really not into me, I’m a little offended! but it turns out Fraser has been awkwardly courting him and eventually they snap and confess feelings and are all over each other

I know, right? Because what if Ray needs a pencil? Fraser’s right there to hand it to him. No need to move a couple feet. Saves time.

If said pencil needs sharpening, Fraser can just do it with his Bowie Knife. TBH, in this episode, I think Fraser’s sitting that close so he can hold Ray’s hand.

On a side note: Ray seems pretty close to that other guy, Sam Franklin in Ladies Man, I kind of speculate about their relationship. You know, until Franklin is holding a gun to his head. Basically because I can’t believe anyone could actually be around Ray Kowalski and not fancy him. But this may just be my slash goggles fuelling this.

I swear I read a fic where he was hitting on Ray but I cannot remember what fic it was. So you’re not the only one. Unless you wrote it lol.

Right?? Like, he’s definitely asking for validation because he’s at a low point, and he obviously cares about Fraser’s opinion as a new friend and someone he admires but “do you find me attractive” is a lot more personal and puts more weight on whether Fraser specifically is attracted to him. He doesn’t seem to care when the old lady says that he’s attractive.

and in the end Dean has to convince Sam that life is worth living and Sam is STILL upset that he isn’t Dean’s entire world

“it feels like the same conflicts recycled over and over again when I hoped they were doing something new this season” Sad how you can say this about half the seasons of the show, am I right? I couldn’t agree more with much of this post.

I’m a total Deangirl so I guess that colours my perspective but there are SO MANY interesting issues they could delve into, and instead we get yet another round of Dean assuring Sam that he loves him more than anything, and I can buy that Sam still needs to hear it, but to anyone watching the show this is so incredibly obvious that there’s not much point in making it a plot point yet again.

I agree so much with what you said in your reaction post about Sam making adult choices. I wish he could just go off and study or get a job and leave suffering for the sake of the world to someone else.

I wasn’t really engaged at all until the last ten minutes because the trials as a plot has been pretty uninteresting. I’m unsurprised by Sam and Cas doing the bulk of the action and Dean turning up to smother Sam in love at the end but it didn’t give me any reasons to care about them other than the ones I pretty much know by heart.

I loved Abaddon, I’m glad this appears to be the end of Crowley as a villain, and I did enjoy the final scene with Sam and Dean in the church, if only because they finally started digging into the emotional issues which are pretty much the only thing I’m there for. I still haven’t really figured out how I feel about Sam being so torn up about not being good enough for Dean - if I try hard I can care about him wanting so badly to atone for his failures but like, I have to really concentrate. I feel kind of uncharitable towards Sam but it feels like the same conflicts recycled over and over again when I hoped they were doing something new this season.

It’s disappointing that they built up all this tension between Dean and Cas - the escape from Purgatory, the aborted conversations, Cas’s love for Dean breaking Naomi’s control (possibly that was supposed to feel like a conclusion? but it just built up the same issues more) - and did absolutely nothing with it, but I suppose I should have expected that too.

ALSO pissed about Dean throwing out “I killed Benny for you!” like that’s some proof of love, remember when I thought that they might be making the Sam and Dean relationship so unhealthy because they were planning on working through some of their issues, ahahahaha.
